Business Development Coordinator

Reports To: President

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $68,000 – $75,000 annually + commission

  • Performance Bonus Structure:

    • $25,000 bonus for achieving $1 million in net revenue

    • An additional $30,000 for surpassing $2 million or more in net revenue (at the discretion of the President)

  • Maximum Total Compensation: $130,000 annually

Position Summary:

The Business Development Coordinator under direction of the company president will lead client acquisition efforts and serves as the main point of contact for the sales department and its team. This position is responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and ensuring that all sales activities align with the strategic goals of Landslide Political LLC and its associated companies. The Business Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint in the political, nonprofit, and government sectors by developing strong, long-term partnerships.

This position requires an individual with a deep and practical understanding of the political consulting landscape, including elections, nonprofit operations, and government processes. More importantly, this position needs a strong desire and energy to learn in areas that may need it.

The Business Development Coordinator must be highly strategic, results-driven, and capable of managing both people, personalities and projects across a fast-paced and mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Acquisition & Sales Strategy

  • Learn about our success assisting our clients across political campaigns, progressive coalitions, nonprofit organizations, and public sector partners to confidently speak about our capability and track record

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new clients across political campaigns, progressive coalitions, nonprofit organizations, and public sector partners

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to convert prospects into long-term clients

  • Maintain a well-organized and active sales pipeline using our HubSpot

  • Consistently meet and exceed revenue and outreach targets

  • Deliver tailored pitches and proposals to diverse client audiences

  • Regularly report on goals, strategies to network

Departmental Responsibilities

  • Build, and help lead, and manage the internal sales team

  • Set clear goals, establish processes, and monitor performance across the department under direction of the president

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure sales success

  • Work with Business Operations Director to develop a budget, and report on said budget

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention

  • Oversee all pre-contract communication; ensure a seamless transition and hand off to the correct department for project delivery

  • Ensure accurate documentation of client interactions and preferences

  • Build and maintain a network of referral and partnership relationships to expand reach

Marketing & Development Collaboration

  • Create proposals, presentations, and digital content to communicate the company’s value proposition effectively, with the support of the Marketing Director.

  • Stay informed on industry and political trends, competitor activity, and market shifts

  • Align marketing efforts with sales goals to maximize lead generation

Event and Industry Engagement

  • Represent the organization at industry events, political functions, and conferences

  • Plan and attend client engagement activities to strengthen relationships and enhance visibility

  • Identify opportunities for promotional events and speaking engagements

  • Set goals, and report on the success and cost-benefit of those engagements

Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor and report key performance indicators, including lead conversion rates and revenue growth

  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities and inform strategic decision-making

  • Present regular updates to leadership on progress, challenges, and recommendations

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates are growth-minded, dedicated, eager, seeking feedback and high willingness to learn. 

  • 3-4 years of experience in sales, business development, or client acquisition, preferably within the political or nonprofit sectors

  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding revenue targets

  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. politics, election cycles, nonprofit structures, and government systems is required - A strong eagerness to learn is essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities

  • Excellent organizational skills, systems development is key to the success

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) and sales analytics (preferable hubspot)

  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and mission-driven environment
